NYAGATARE WFC STRUGGLES AGAINST INDAHANGARWA WFC, LOSING 3–0
Indahangarwa WFC continues to show dominance, thrashing Nyagatare WFC 3–0 on Matchday 14 of the Women’s Championship
On Matchday 14 of the National Women’s Championship, football fans were eagerly anticipating the clash between Nyagatare WFC and visiting Indahangarwa WFC. The match carried special significance as both teams were in need of points to strengthen their positions on the league table.
The game was played at Nyagatare Stadium, where a large number of supporters turned up to cheer on the home side, hoping Nyagatare WFC would secure a victory on their own ground.
From the opening minutes, Indahangarwa WFC made it clear they were not there just to visit, but to claim all three points. They dominated the midfield, played quick passes along the ground, and made effective use of the wings posing serious problems for Nyagatare WFC’s defense.
Nyagatare WFC tried to hold their ground in the early stages, but struggled to link up their passes and rarely threatened Indahangarwa WFC’s goal.
The first half ended with Indahangarwa WFC in the lead after Sylvine scored the opening goal, which came following a defensive lapse by Nyagatare WFC.
In the second half, Indahangarwa WFC maintained intense pressure on Nyagatare WFC, and once again Sylvine showcased her quality by scoring a second goal, underlining her importance to the team in this championship.
Nyagatare WFC attempted to pull one back by increasing their intensity, but Indahangarwa WFC’s defense and goalkeeper stood firm. This opened up more attacking opportunities for Indahangarwa WFC.
Midway through the second half, Niyigena Yvette scored the third goal, putting the result beyond doubt and sealing a convincing 3–0 victory for Indahangarwa WFC.
This win allows Indahangarwa WFC to continue their strong run in the Women’s Championship, boosting their confidence in the fight for top positions on the league table. For Nyagatare WFC, it was a match full of lessons, particularly in defensive organization and finishing chances.
