RAYON SPORTS WFC AND POLICE WFC IN A TOUGH BATTLE FOR THE WOMEN’S LEAGUE TITLE
The top division of women’s football in Rwanda, the Rwanda Women’s Super League, is approaching its final stages as teams continue to compete for better positions on the league table. After Match day 19 games played on March 7 and 8, 2026, the competition has become even more intense, especially among the teams at the top of the standings.
At the top of the table remains Rayon Sports WFC with 45 points from 18 matches, closely followed by Police WFC, which also has 45 points but trails behind on goal difference. This situation has made the rivalry between the two teams even more exciting, especially since the match that was scheduled to bring them face-to-face on this match day was postponed, leaving football fans eagerly waiting to see when it will be played.
In third place is Indahangarwa WFC with 42 points after drawing 1–1 with AS Kigali WFC on Match day 19. Although the draw slightly slowed their momentum in chasing the top teams, they still have a chance to continue competing for higher positions in the remaining matches.
On the other hand, APR WFC continued their good form by defeating Forever WFC 3–1, maintaining fourth place with 37 points. APR WFC’s victory showed that the team could still cause surprises in the remaining fixtures, especially if it continues to perform at this level.
In other matches played, Kamonyi WFC defeated Nyagatare WFC 2–0, while Bugesera WFC also secured a strong 4–1 win against Muhazi United WFC. The match between Inyemera WFC and Macuba WFC ended in a goalless draw (0–0).
At the bottom of the standings, Nyagatare WFC continues to face serious difficulties this season as it remains in last place without a single point after 19 matches played. This situation greatly reduces its chances of staying in the top division, although the team may still continue fighting in the remaining games.
As the league moves closer to its conclusion, football fans across Rwanda are closely following how teams will perform in the remaining matches, particularly the intense rivalry between Rayon Sports WFC and Police WFC, which could ultimately determine the winner of the Rwanda Women’s Super League title this season.
Moreover, the league continues to demonstrate the steady growth of women’s football in Rwanda, with many teams showing improved quality and strong determination on the pitch. Women players are increasingly standing out, attracting more football fans to the competition and strengthening hopes for the continued development of women’s football in Rwanda in the coming years.
