RAYON SPORTS WFC IN STRONG PREPARATIONS FOR THE SUPER CUP AND THE LEAGUE TITLE: NEW PLAYERS JOIN THE GIKUNDIRO FAMILY

Rayon Sports Women Football Club continues to show its ambition to remain at the top of women’s football in Rwanda and the region, as it intensifies preparations for the Super Cup, a highly anticipated competition among football fans of both men and women, scheduled for January 10, 2026.

The Super Cup is considered one of the most prestigious trophies due to the pride and honor that come with winning it. In addition to the Super Cup, Rayon Sports WFC is also preparing for the Rwanda Women’s Super League, where the club aims to once again demonstrate its dominance.

In a bid to further strengthen the squad and improve team performance, Rayon Sports has secured the services of two new foreign players who are expected to play a key role in the important matches ahead.

Rayon Sports WFC delighted its supporters by announcing the signing of Annonciatte Nshimirimana, a 21 year old Burundian international player.

She plays as a central defender, using her right foot, and is known for her strength, composure, and excellent reading of the game. Nshimirimana brings international experience, having previously played for Fountain Gates Princess of Tanzania from 2022 to 2024, and Top Girls Academy of Burundi during the 2024–2025 seasons.

Rayon Sports management stated that her arrival is expected to add solidity and strength to the team’s defense, especially in high level matches that require experience and tactical intelligence.

Rayon Sports WFC has not only reinforced its defense, as it also announced the signing of Matapa Naoussi Omerie Delsir, a 21 year old player from Cameroon.

Delsir is a striker expected to provide attacking solutions for Gikundiro, particularly in competitive league and tournament matches. She is known for her speed, goal scoring instinct, and determination to find the back of the net whenever she gets an opportunity.

Welcoming her to the club, Rayon Sports management stated: “Welcome to the Rayon Sports family, Delsir,” expressing strong confidence that she will play a significant role in the team’s future success.

The Goal: Super Cup and League Title

The addition of these two players clearly shows that Rayon Sports WFC has well defined objectives: to compete for and win all trophies available during this season. Gikundiro supporters continue to show confidence and strong support for their team, eagerly waiting to see how the new signings will perform on the pitch.

With only a few days remaining before the Super Cup kicks off, all eyes will be on Rayon Sports WFC, a team determined to continue making history and delighting its fans.
