Rambura and Gakenke Ladies Set for a Special Showdown! 

Rambura WFC and Gakenke Ladies will face off in a special match to celebrate the International Day of Rural Women, scheduled for October 15, 2026, in Gakenke District.

The match will provide an important opportunity to celebrate the contribution of rural women to sports development, particularly women’s football, while showcasing the talent of female players who continue to make their mark in the game.

FERWAFA began celebrating this special day in 2025, when a match featuring former women’s football players was organized in Ngoma District.

This year, all eyes will be on Rambura WFC and Gakenke Ladies, two teams that recently earned promotion to the First Division. The encounter promises to be an exciting occasion filled with competition, pride, and a celebration of the achievements and potential of rural women in football!
