As the Rwanda Women’s Super League entered the return phase (phase retour), on matchday 13 of the championship, APR Women Football Club (APR WFC) hosted Muhazi United Women Football Club (Muhazi United WFC) in a highly anticipated encounter among fans of women’s football.

 

The match was played at APR WFC’s home ground, where both teams started with great energy and determination. On both sides, players showed a strong desire to score early, with each team eager to prove it deserved all three points.

 

Playing at home, APR WFC tried to control the game through ball possession and wing play, while Muhazi United WFC was not afraid to push forward and play an attacking style aimed at scoring.

 

The first half was marked by intense competition between the two teams. Although chances were created on both sides, defenders and goalkeepers displayed great skill in stopping goals, and the first half ended with the score level at 0–0.

 

In the second half, the game became even more exciting and faster paced. APR WFC opened the scoring after a well constructed attack down the left flank, putting pressure on Muhazi United WFC.

However, Muhazi United WFC did not lose heart. They continued to press forward in search of an equalizer and eventually scored a crucial goal, much to the delight of their supporters.

 

Despite both teams having chances to grab a late winning goal, the match ended in a 1–1 draw, with the two sides sharing the points.

 

This match proved to be an important lesson for both teams, especially in terms of finishing chances and maintaining strong performances in the remaining league fixtures.

 

The draw allowed APR WFC to continue their journey in the championship, while Muhazi United WFC showed that they are a strong side capable of competing with the country’s top teams.

 

Coaches React to the Match Outcome

 

After the 1–1 draw, coaches from both teams described the match as a valuable learning experience filled with intense competition.

 

The APR WFC head coach said that although his team did not secure a win, there were many positives to take from the match.

 

> “We played a good game, and my players showed great commitment and the desire to win. There are areas we need to improve, especially in finishing our chances, but overall I am pleased with our performance.”

 

On the Muhazi United WFC side, their coach emphasized that earning a draw against APR WFC was a positive step for his team.

 

> “APR WFC is a very strong team, and drawing against them shows that we are on the right path. My players showed great fighting spirit, especially after conceding and then managing to equalize.”

 

He added that the match gave them confidence heading into the remaining league games, stressing that their goal is to continue performing well and collecting more points.

 

Fans of women’s football continue to note that the championship is becoming more competitive and exciting, a development that offers great hope for the future of the women’s game in Rwanda.
