KAMONYI WFC DEFEATS POLICE WFC IN A TOUGH MATCH ON MATCHDAY 14 OF THE WOMEN’S LEAGUE

On Matchday 14 of the Rwanda Women’s National League, Kamonyi WFC hosted Police WFC in a highly anticipated encounter marked by intensity, determination, and strong emotions. The match ended with Kamonyi WFC securing a narrow 1–0 victory.

The first half of the match was characterized by caution from both sides. Each team entered the game focused on avoiding mistakes before thinking about scoring.

Playing at home, Kamonyi WFC tried to attack mainly through the wings, but their offensive efforts were neutralized by a solid defensive display from Police WFC. On the other hand, Police WFC did not sit back either; they made several attempts to reach Kamonyi’s goal, but their chances failed to produce any goals.

As the first half drew to a close, both teams continued to play carefully, and the half ended in a goalless draw (0–0).

The second half saw a clear shift in tempo. Both teams returned to the pitch with renewed energy and determination, each eager to claim all three points.

Kamonyi WFC increased the pace of their attacks, applying heavy pressure on Police WFC, particularly in midfield. The home supporters responded with loud cheers, urging their players to keep pushing for a breakthrough.

Police WFC attempted to respond by making substitutions in search of an opening goal, but their attacking play continued to struggle against Kamonyi’s well organized defense.

In the 82nd minute, Kamonyi WFC scored the decisive goal of the match. Following a well constructed move starting from midfield, the ball was delivered into Police WFC’s penalty area, where Kamonyi WFC found the back of the net, sending their supporters into celebration.

After conceding, Police WFC pushed forward in search of an equalizer, but the remaining minutes were not enough to change the outcome. Kamonyi WFC managed the game well until the final whistle.

The match ended with Kamonyi WFC defeating Police WFC 1–0, earning three crucial points in their quest for a strong league campaign.

This victory highlights Kamonyi WFC’s growing strength, especially when playing at home, while Police WFC will look to correct their shortcomings in upcoming fixtures.
