Rayon Sports WFC 6-0 AS Kigali WFC: A dominant victory that strengthens their league leadership

 

On Matchday 18 of the Rwanda Women’s Super League, Rayon Sports WFC displayed top level performance by defeating AS Kigali WFC 6-0 in a match played in the capital.

 

The game started at a high tempo from both sides, with each team eager to control the early minutes. Although AS Kigali WFC tried to show strength and push forward, Rayon Sports WFC struck early, immediately changing the momentum of the match.

In the 11th minute, Mukagatete Emeline opened the scoring for Rayon Sports WFC, giving her team an early boost of confidence. It did not take long for them to extend their lead, as Niyonshuti Emmerance netted the second goal in the 34th minute, underlining their clear intention to secure all three points.

 

AS Kigali WFC continued trying to get back into the game, but Rayon Sports WFC’s attacking force kept them under constant pressure.

Just before halftime, in the 45th minute, Ukwinkunda Jeannette scored the third goal, sending Rayon Sports WFC into the break with a comfortable 3-0 lead.

 

In the second half, Rayon Sports WFC maintained their attacking momentum. In the 48th minute, Mukagatete Emeline scored her second goal of the match, making it 4-0.

 

In the 64th minute, Gikundiro Scholastique added the fifth goal, leaving little doubt about the outcome of the match. Despite AS Kigali WFC’s continued efforts to find a consolation goal, Rayon Sports WFC’s defense remained solid.

 

In the 87th minute, Odette Coralie Ngwema sealed the emphatic victory with the sixth goal, putting the finishing touch on a remarkable performance.

This victory further confirms that Rayon Sports WFC are in excellent form and continue to lead the league standings provisionally. The players and coaching staff demonstrated strong teamwork and consistency, key factors in maintaining their position at the top.

 

Although AS Kigali WFC conceded heavily, they showed determination and resilience; however, they failed to capitalize on the chances they created. The match highlighted the difference in efficiency and execution between the two sides.

As the season approaches its final stages, the championship race continues to intensify, with every team fighting to collect as many points as possible.
