GAKENKE WFC WON THE SECOND DIVISION LEAGUE TITLE
In the final match of the women’s second division championship, Gakenke WFC won the trophy after defeating Rambura WFC 3-1 in an exciting game filled with determination and enthusiasm from both players and fans.
Gakenke WFC started the match on the front foot, and in the 30th minute, Nishimwe Immaculée opened the scoring with the first goal, giving her team more confidence. Shortly after, in the 40th minute, Manishimwe Louisse doubled the lead for Gakenke WFC, as the first half ended 2-0.
In the second half, Rambura WFC tried to fight back into the game, and in the 83rd minute, Umutuzo Justine scored a consolation goal that revived hope among Rambura supporters. However, Gakenke WFC quickly responded, with Nishimwe Immaculée scoring the third goal and her second of the match, sealing victory for her team.
This victory earned Gakenke WFC the Rwanda Women’s Championship 2025-26 Second Division title, bringing great joy to the club’s supporters and management.
Gakenke WFC fans ended the match in extraordinary celebrations after witnessing their team make history.
