FIBA U18 ZONE 5: RWANDA FALLS TO TANZANIA BY JUST TWO POINTS

Rwanda's U18 Girls National Basketball Team suffered a narrow 60–58 defeat to Tanzania in the FIBA U18 Zone 5 Championship, following a fiercely contested game that remained competitive until the final seconds.

Both teams started the match cautiously, displaying solid defensive organization and disciplined play. Rwanda relied on quick ball movement and fast transitions, while Tanzania remained composed and capitalized on its scoring opportunities.

Throughout the game, Rwanda fought hard to close the gap on several occasions, showing resilience and determination. However, Tanzania made better decisions in the closing minutes and converted crucial scoring chances, allowing them to edge Rwanda by two points.

Despite the loss, the Rwandan players demonstrated great fighting spirit, refusing to give up until the final buzzer. Their performance highlighted the team's potential and ability to compete against strong opponents in the tournament.

Following the match, the Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA) encouraged the team with a message of support, saying:

> "Heads held high. We gave everything on the court, and we'll use this experience to fuel an even stronger performance in the next game."

Although the result was disappointing, the match provided valuable lessons that will help Rwanda improve ahead of its upcoming fixtures. Basketball fans across the country remain optimistic that the young team will bounce back stronger and continue to represent Rwanda with pride throughout the tournament.
