The Executive Committee of FERWAFA, in its meeting held on 28 November 2025, approved the decision to change the name of the women’s top-tier league. The league, which was previously known as the Rwanda Women League First Division, will now be called the Rwanda Women’s Super League.

This decision was made to further promote women’s football, enhance branding and marketing efforts, and give the league a stronger and more professional international identity.
