BASKETBALL NATIONAL TEAM

Today, December 4, 2025, Kigali International Airport was filled with a mix of joy, excitement, and anticipation as Rwanda’s Women’s 3x3 Basketball National Team departed for Antananarivo, Madagascar. The players set off with overwhelming determination, their faces glowing with the spirit of victory as fans escorted them like people sending off a lion returning to its den.

The team is heading to compete in the prestigious 2025 FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup, scheduled to take place in Madagascar from December 5 to 7. In the words of basketball enthusiasts, this tournament is a gathering of the powerful and the legendary, and Rwanda is going there to show that it can compete on top of Africa’s highest peaks. Representing Rwanda in this competition are Brigitte Nibishaka, Henriette Uwimpuhwe, Faustine Mwizerwa, and Nelly Akariza.

The players, looking like warriors embarking on a heroic mission, left behind promises of never giving up. They departed with lightning fast energy and the courage of soldiers, choosing to fight for the nation’s pride on the African stage.
