The Rwandan women’s basketball teams, APR Women Basketball and REG Women Basketball, are proudly representing Rwanda at the Women’s Basketball League Africa (WBLA) in Cairo, Egypt. The tournament, which began on December 5, 2025, continues to showcase high-level competition and the courage of African basketball teams.
Today, in a challenging matchup, REG Women Basketball faced Al Ahly, one of Africa’s most historic and powerful teams. REG entered the court with lionhearted determination, but Al Ahly’s experience and lightning-fast execution secured them an 80–60 victory. Despite the loss, REG showed resilience and the fighting spirit that can make a comeback in the coming games.
On the other side, APR Women Basketball displayed sheer dominance against Brave Heart from Malawi. APR’s players showcased skill, confidence, and teamwork, securing a commanding 92–37 victory. As the game progressed, APR’s scoring was relentless, sending a strong message across Africa about the bravery and talent they brought to Cairo.
