APR WBBC Books a Place in the Quarterfinals, Continuing to Make History in the WBLA
Rwanda’s two women’s basketball teams APR Women BBC and REG Women BBC continue to show Africa that Rwanda did not come just to participate, but to compete for silverware in the prestigious WBLA (Women’s Basketball League Africa) taking place in Cairo, Egypt, since December 5, 2025.
Today’s games were intense and electric, the arena filled with the energy of fans, while Rwandans eagerly awaited APR’s performance. What followed was a story filled with pride and joy.
APR Women BBC Dominates ASB CNSS with an 89–66 Victory
APR WBBC once again showcased power and class, defeating ASB CNSS with a convincing 89–66 win a performance that proved the team is on the right path to achieving much more.
This victory is APR’s second in three games, securing them second place in their group, and earning them a well-deserved place in the quarterfinals.
It was a game filled with energy, strong offensive execution, and mature game management. The players displayed confidence, intensity, and determination and the fans inside the arena responded with thunderous support.
Players' Strength & the Spirit of Victory
APR played a well-rounded game marked by:
Strong and aggressive defense,
Sharp and consistent offense,
Excellent teamwork and unity.
This combination made the match extremely difficult for ASB CNSS from start to finish.
APR played with a swagger that seemed to say:
“We don’t just win — we make a statement!”
With this exceptional performance, APR’s qualification for the quarterfinals has boosted confidence among fans and supporters.
What Must APR Improve to Reach the Final?
For APR WBBC to reach the final, they need to strengthen the following:
1. Win the quarterfinal match
The first and unavoidable step to reach the semifinals.
2. Maintain strong performance in the semifinals
A crucial match winning it sends the team straight to the championship game.
3. Continue building teamwork
APR must keep:
Playing as a united family,
Maximizing the talent of key players,
Strengthening coordination between offense and defense.
4. Fix mistakes seen in previous games
Avoid turnovers and improve ball movement. These adjustments will keep the team sharp in decisive matches.
5. Increase hunger and the winning mentality
This is what separates good teams from great ones. APR must continue playing with passion, ambition, and belief — the mindset needed to chase history.
